NDIS & Accessible Housing:
Built for Independence.
A Home, Not a Hospital.
Why we are fighting for a better standard of disability housing.
"Let’s be honest: a large part of the disability construction industry is broken.
After years in this sector, I’ve seen the reality. I’ve seen builders who only care about meeting the bare minimum guidelines to trigger funding. I’ve seen designers who tick boxes and place fixtures because they have to, with zero thought for the person who has to live there every single day.
To them, it’s a project. To us, it’s personal.
Our disability team isn't just made up of construction workers; it’s made up of people who live and breathe this industry. We are tired of seeing homes that feel like hospitals or hostels. Your home should be a sanctuary, a place of warmth and creativity—not a clinical space defined by a disability."
The "Volume Builder" Gap
If you want a sterile investment property just to capture NDIS funds, there are plenty of builders for that, but if you are wanting a home, come and speak to us.
Standard builders don’t understand disability needs. Volume builders shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath. And while there are 'specialist' SIL builders, they often lack the warmth and creativity that makes a house feel like a home.
We specialize in working with families to create a space where everyone belongs. If you are a family of six and one person has a disability, why should the other five live in a clinical environment? And why should the person with a disability feel like they are living in a ward?
We are here to find the happy medium. We create homes that are fit for the whole family—spaces that meet complex functional needs while remaining beautiful, comfortable, and full of life.".
A Home for Every Journey
Because life can change in an instant, but your dignity shouldn't.
"Our mission isn't limited to NDIS participants. We are here for anyone whose life has been changed by a workplace injury, a car accident, or a long-term medical condition.
When a sudden injury occurs, the world becomes a maze of insurance claims, medical appointments, and legal jargon. The last thing you should have to worry about is whether your home will still be a place where you can live with dignity.
We’ve seen how the industry treats these situations. Builders and insurers often look for the 'cheapest compliant fix'—turning your family home into a clinical space filled with industrial ramps and hospital-grade fixtures. We say that isn't good enough. Whether you are navigating the NDIS or a complex insurance claim, you deserve a home that supports your recovery and your future, without looking like a facility."
Supporting the Whole Family
"A life-changing injury doesn't just affect one person; it affects the whole family. We specialize in 'Inclusive Advocacy'—ensuring that a renovation or a new build works for the person with the injury and the people who love and care for them.
Why should a family be forced to split up because their home is no longer 'fit for purpose'? Why should children grow up in a house that feels like a rehab center?
We bridge the gap between medical necessity and architectural beauty. We work with you to find the happy medium—creating a space that meets every functional requirement for your recovery while remaining a warm, creative, and beautiful family home."
The "Advocacy Collective" for Complex Needs
"For our clients dealing with long-term injuries, we bring in specialists who understand the intersection of building, health, and law. From access consultants who understand the specific needs of spinal or brain injuries to experts who can help justify 'quality of life' inclusions to insurers, we are the team that fights for your right to a real home."
Our Mission: Your Piece of Change
"This industry must change, and we are here to help you achieve your piece of that change. We support you in creating a home that respects your daily reality without sacrificing your dignity or your style. Whether it’s a full renovation or a new build, we advocate for a home that works for you today, tomorrow, and for years to come."

Meet the Collective:
NDIS Key Worker, Pre-School & Primary Education Advisor
"For our youngest participants, a home is more than just a shelter—it is their first classroom and their primary therapy space.
Our Early Childhood Specialist brings a unique dual-perspective to The Advocacy Collective. As a qualified Pre-School and Primary School Teacher and an experienced NDIS Key Worker, she understands the developmental milestones and sensory needs of children like no one else in the construction industry.
She specializes in ensuring that home modifications and new builds aren't just 'accessible,' but are designed to foster growth, play, and learning. From sensory-friendly lighting and acoustic considerations to creating spaces that support early intervention therapies, she advocates for the child’s future. She works closely with families to ensure their home is a nurturing environment where a child can thrive, learn, and feel completely at ease."
Navigating the NDIS is a challenge at any age, but for our mature-age participants, the stakes are often different. It’s about maintaining independence, ensuring long-term safety in the home, and coordinating care that respects a lifetime of autonomy.
Our Support Coordination Specialist brings years of dedicated experience in working with mature-age members. She understands that 'support' isn't just a line item in a budget—it’s about the human connection. She specializes in bridging the gap between complex NDIS plans and the practical, daily needs of participants who want to remain in their own homes, surrounded by their community.
Whether she is advocating for plan reviews, coordinating specialized home modifications, or simply providing a steady hand through the bureaucracy, her focus is on dignity. She ensures that every participant is heard, every need is met, and every home is a place where they can age with grace and security
Great design is about more than just how a building looks—it’s about how it performs for the people inside.
Our lead Design Specialist brings a rare level of expertise to The Advocacy Collective, specializing in high-compliance environments including Class 3 dwellings and Childcare centers. These are some of the most regulated sectors in the building industry, where every millimeter of a hallway and every choice of material is scrutinized for safety and accessibility.
Whether he is reviewing a complex NDIS group home or a specialized early-learning center, his focus is on bridging the gap between strict government guidelines and functional, beautiful design. He ensures that your project isn't just 'compliant' on paper, but is a space that truly works for the families, children, and residents who use it every day
Our Design Specialist
NDIS Support Coordination & Advocacy for Mature-Age Participants Advisor
A great plan is only as good as its execution on-site. In an industry where 'near enough' is often treated as 'good enough,' our Project Management specialist brings the high-level site authority needed to hold builders accountable.
With a background as a Registered Builder and years of experience leading complex residential and commercial sites, he understands exactly how a project can slip off track—and how to prevent it. He doesn't just sit behind a desk; he knows the language of the trades, the reality of the construction sequence, and where the 'hidden' shortcuts are often taken.
His role in The Advocacy Collective is to be your eyes and ears on the ground. From reviewing structural integrity and waterproofing to managing timelines and variations, he ensures that your home is built to the highest standard of craftsmanship. He is the bridge between the client’s expectations and the builder’s delivery, ensuring that 'quality' is a reality, not just a word in a contract.
Site Leadership, Construction Management & Quality Control
Accessibility, SDA, Standards & Compliance
An accessible home isn’t just about ticking off grab rails and ramp gradients—it’s about making every movement in the space safer, easier, and more dignified.
Our Access Consultant is a specialist in translating standards into real life. With deep knowledge of SDA Design Standards, AS 1428.1, the BCA, and broader accessibility guidelines, they review plans and built work to ensure that door widths, circulation spaces, gradients, bathroom layouts, and fixture placements all work together in practice, not just on paper.
They are the one who looks at a drawing and says, ‘Yes, that meets the standard—but will it actually work for this person, in this home, with this level of support?’ That’s where the real value is. Their role is to protect you from ‘near enough is good enough’ accessibility and help deliver environments that truly support independence and daily living.
Functional Assessment, Home Modifications & Human-Centered Design
A house is only truly accessible if it works for the specific person living inside it. While a builder follows a plan, our Occupational Therapist (OT) follows the person.
Our OT specialist brings a deep understanding of functional capacity and human movement to The Advocacy Collective. She doesn't just look at a bathroom layout; she looks at how a person will transfer, reach, and move safely within that space. She specializes in translating complex medical and physical needs into practical building requirements.
Whether it’s advising on specialized kitchen heights, automated home technology, or the exact placement of support fixtures, her goal is to maximize independence. She ensures that every modification or new build is a 'perfect fit' for the user’s daily life, reducing the risk of injury and ensuring that the home is a place of total empowerment.
