The Advocacy Collective

No one person knows everything. That is why we work as a collective.

"After 20 years in the industry, I’ve learned that the biggest mistakes happen when ego gets in the way of expertise. A builder or consultant who claims to have every answer is a risk to your project.

At Better Living Advocacy, we do things differently. I am proud to lead your project, but I am even prouder to be backed by The Advocacy Collective—a hand-picked panel of independent specialists who work in that respective field and run their own business.

Whether it’s a specific NDIS compliance hurdle, or a deep dive into material durability, I bring in the right 'second set of eyes' at the right time. We are a team of researchers, problem-solvers, and straight-talkers who will stay up late to find the exact answer your project deserves."

The Team Behind the Scenes

Expertise in action, profiles in progress.

While we are currently finalizing the individual profiles for our specialist partners, please know that the full power of The Advocacy Collective is already active and reachable behind the scenes. Every pillar of expertise listed above is currently supporting our clients and protecting their projects.

Over the coming months, we will be unveiling our team members one by one, sharing their stories, their specific 'lived experience,' and the unique value they bring to your build.

Don’t miss an update. To be the first to meet our specialists and receive expert building insights, stay tuned through our newsletter.

FAQs

  • The Collective is our panel of independent specialists (engineers, NDIS consultants, plumbers, etc.) whom we call upon for deep-dive technical reviews. You get the benefit of a whole team of experts, coordinated through a single point of contact.

  • No. The initial consultation is a high-level discussion to understand your project and determine how we can best support you. Any advice provided during this call is verbal and for general guidance only. It does not constitute a formal professional opinion or a legally binding recommendation.

  • Formal, documented advice and project oversight only begin once our services have been officially engaged and a service agreement is signed. This ensures that all recommendations are backed by a thorough review of your specific project documentation and are covered by our professional standards.

  • We work solely for the client. We do not accept referral fees from builders or contractors. Our independence is our greatest asset, ensuring that our advice is always unbiased and focused entirely on your best interests.

  • Absolutely. While it is ideal to engage us during the planning or contract stage, we are often brought in mid-build to perform "Project Health Checks," resolve disputes, or provide oversight on specific technical stages like waterproofing or framing.

  • Yes, absolutely. Our goal is the successful completion of your project and the resolution of your issues. If a specialist’s contact details are listed in their profile, you are more than welcome to reach out to them directly if that makes you feel more comfortable.

When you call, feel free to mention Better Living Advocacy—it will help them understand the context of your project and why you are reaching out. We are here to support the end goal, however that is best achieved for you.

  • There is no cost for the initial 30-minute consultation or for the preliminary discussions between us and our specialist consultants regarding your project. We believe in providing that initial bridge to expert advice for free.

Costs only apply when the scope of work moves into formal engagement—such as when we need to attend a site inspection, perform a detailed document review, or dedicate significant time to resolving a specific issue. We will always be transparent about when a fee applies before any costs are incurred.
